Sharing a meal between cultures

Recently we had another cooking workshop in Het Wilde Westen, this time the theme was cabbage. 3 nationalities (Ukrainian, Syrian, and Dutch) cooked typical food of their countries with cabbage as an ingredient.

There was laughter, stories were told, and this time the men took charge of the kitchen!

Ukrainian refugees cooked borscht and proudly explained to the rest of the group the importance of this dish, about why it exists in their national identity.

The group split up very late and set the next theme: pumpkin cooking!
